Algebraic geometry is a central field of mathematics. It has strong connections with many other fields within and outside mathematics s uch as algebra, number theory, differential geometry, topology, physics, computer science, etc. In this talk I will start with introducing algebr aic geometry and then explain some of those connections.
報告人簡介：
Caucher Birkar （考切爾 比爾卡爾），英國劍橋大學教授，師從美國約翰霍普金斯大學Shokurov教授，從事代數幾何中雙有理幾何學的研究。與Ca scini，Hacon和 McKernan的合作工作中，分類了一般型代數簇，這項工作是雙有理代數幾何領域的重大突破。2006年，他獲得了英國 Leverhulme獎。2016年，他獲得美國數學會Moore研究論文獎。2016年，Birkar獨立解決了關于法諾代數簇的重要猜想BAB猜想。由于在BAB猜想以及他在雙有理代數幾何中的重要貢獻，他于2018年獲得了數學界最高獎項——菲爾茲獎（Fields Medal）。
